INTRO TO GRINDING
Nailing your grind is fundamental to a great tasting brew and although we offer pre-ground options for all our coffees (online and at the café), we recommend grinding fresh to get the most out of your cup – there’s a whole flavour wheel of tastes to enjoy after all! (more…)
Ah, cold brew. A bloody delicious way to cool down & appreciate the full rainbow of flavour waiting to be unleashed in your beans. All you need is some good quality coffee (we've got your backs there), some common bits & bobs from the kitchen & a bit of time.
If you work in coffee, it won’t be news to you that the SCAA recently updated their official flavour wheel for the first time in over 20 years. (more…)
This reserve origin holds a special place for our Head Roaster Ed, who was part of the Guatemala CoE judging panel that awarded it 3rd place last year. We gave him carte blanche on the topic of this post, so we’re talking about variety, folks. (more…)

Calling all Q Graders from way back! If you were certified before January 1st 2013, you'll need to renew your licence before the years' end, under new regulations from CQI stating that a Q Grader License is now only valid for a 3 year period. A Q Grader Re-certification test will be held in our cupping lab on Sunday 20th October, 2013, 8am- 5pm. This entails three cuppings. Passing the calibration maintains your Q Grader status for another 3 years. A Q who lets his/her status lapse past one year after expiration will no longer be an active Q Grader. Bookings can be made on 02 9693 2232.
Re-sits will also be available at various times on Friday 18th, Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th October, 2013. For enquiries and bookings, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 02 9693 2232.
