Starmaya is a coffee that’s stopped us in our brewing and slurping tracks and had us engrossed in genetic diversity and the future of coffee farming.
One of our all-time favourite producers, La Minita of Costa Rica, have released their first Geisha coffee. We’ve managed to get our hands on the first lot & we’re firing up the roaster on Monday!
Before we set off travelling from Melbourne to Brisbane visiting cafes doing extra good in their hood this week, a quick stop in Surry Hills Sydney to fuel up on how we started our journey with CafeSmart.
We’re aiming to cut our single use cup waste in half by May 2018.

We could tell you that we secured the Cup of Excellence Colombia 1st place winner ‘Bella Vista’ by battling out in the online auction at 3am, bleary-eyed but determined, fighting off stiff international competition with bids of steel… but truth is post-auction we made a phone call to the winning bidder and organised a box. (It was a Colombian company keen to keep the coffee in the country for Colombians to enjoy, but who happily shared out a few boxes around the globe.) (more…)

We’re excited to kick off Round 2 of the Random Acts of Art project with artist Adrian Repeti. The project, which sees our 1kg bags and other ‘random’ objects in our world get art on them, started late last year with Brett Chan as the first artist (read the story here). The idea being, here at Single O we put a lot of time, skill, thought and care into our coffee that goes inside our bags, why not showcase artists that do just the same with their craft, on the outside of our bags.
