Who wouldn’t want this Father’s Day Bundle to arrive on their doorstep this September? I mean, we’ve curated some of the best products our hospo mates have to offer, especially for dads this Father’s Day.
From our Melbourne mate Andrew McConnell (for whom we supply beans to for Cutlter & Co, Cumulus Inc, and Morning Market) Meatsmith is a Melbourne-based butcher, providore & wine merchant with locations in Fitzroy, St. Kilda, Balwyn & Brighton. They’re all about providing exceptional quality goods across Melbourne alongside ripper service.
It’s the housemade mustard that goes with everything (Though maybe not ice cream, you’ve been warned). Made with whole mustard seeds roasted and ground then aged to get the depth of flavour. Similar to Dijon mustard but made to Meatsmith’s own recipe of yellow mustard seeds, Dijon mustard, honey, garlic, apple cider vinegar, lemon zest, salt & vegetable oil.
Perfect with steaks, in sandwiches or as a condiment to sausages – this is a must-have item in your fridge.
One of Meatsmith’s most popular items: thinly sliced pickled zucchini. Cold brined with mustard seeds that allows the zucchini to stay quite crisp, it’s the perfect addition to your next burger.
Our Queenslander mate Jack is the owner of Elwood café, from picturesque Burringbar, a half-hour drive from the Gold Coast. They keep things simple and cosy up at Elwood, and with quality food offerings to match.
Made in partnership between Elwood and Chilli Cartel, Helwood Chilli sauce is a perfect match between fiery hot chillies and smooth coffee. Made on a base of local habanero and smoked cayenne peppers, then blended with Ellwood Cafe’s house blend cold brew, Raisins, fermented apple and finished with fresh ground coffee. Trust us, you’ve never tasted anything like it.
Three Blue Ducks
Founded by three mates who, just like us, wanted to shake things up in the hospo scene for the better, Three Blue Ducks originally started as a Bronte café back in 2010. We shed a tear of fatherly pride whenever we think back on these guys; we’ve been there as they’ve grown into one of Australia’s most-loved brunch spots, with five restaurants nationwide.
Made using the three-ingredient combo of sea salt, fermented chillies, and smoked paprika, Three Blue Ducks’ signature Chilli Salt is the perfect finisher to any and every savoury dish. Flawless victory.
Founded by bread-lover (& proud dad) Tom, Berkelo are forever searching for the best in sourdough bread, and everything that can accompany it. Tom’s a great mate of ours: he came to Costa Rica with us and features in our Quick Li’l guide to specialty coffee.
Berkelo’s Fermented Chilli is a real family affair: It’s made up of “Greg’s Chillies, Rhi’s Father-in-laws’ garlic, Olsson’s sea salt” They think it should go on most things. We’re not going to argue against that.
