WHY DID SINGLE O GET INTO DRIP COFFEE BAGS?
We stumbled across ‘Hanging Ear Coffee Bag’ in a Tokyo hotel room. Sweet format, filled with crap coffee. Light bulb moment; Replace with awesome specialty coffee. Once we knew we could also make compostable coffee bags, we brought in a special filling machine (that we named Phyllis) and set to work creating the best possible product we could.
SO THEY ORIGINATED IN JAPAN?
Yep, the drip coffee bag was invented in Japan in the 90’s… better than their contribution to fashion around the same time. And that bag has turned into more than 2 billion bags every year. Not surprising given how convenient they are and they’re arguably the best coffee for travelling.
