batch brew breville precision brewer

Gear Patrol called it “The most powerful, advanced coffee maker regular people can buy”. Flexible volume, from 1 up to 12 cups. Pre-set functions. And customisable parameters e.g. bloom time, water temperature and flow rate. Let us at it!
What you’ll need:
  • Breville Precision Brewer
  • Grinder
  • Water (Using filtered tap water is ideal and will improve the quality of the brew and longevity of the machine)
  • Coffee beans.
Steps:

Prepare 30g coarsely ground coffee, a No. 4 filter paper & 500g water.
Turn on Precision Brewer and navigate to ‘My Brew’ on the settings panel.
Set your bloom to 30 secs, your water temp to 98°C & your flow rate to medium (make sure pour over is set to off).
Pour your water into the reservoir.

Remove the top part of the brewer which holds the filter paper and the coffee.
Fold your filter paper along the bottom and then the side and place into the plastic insert.

Pop your 30g of coffee in.
Place the filter holder back into the brewer.
Make sure you still have ‘My Brew’ selected on the screen and press ‘Start’.
The brewer will heat up and then start to brew
The brewer will beep once it’s finished. Try to drink the coffee within an hour (if it lasts that long that is).

Tips: Grind coarser for larger batches as the aperture of the filter cone hole is set and will restrict the flow during the draw down.
