We've gone a little bananas and taken our cult classic to new heights.

Enter, our Banana Bread Cold Brew! A mash up of our current sweetened, single origin cold brew, house-made banana espresso, plant-based cold foam topped off with a crispy toasted banana bread crumb.

First featured at Spro Bros Breaking Bread Vol. 31 back in FEB we were stoked with the response and cries for "more please!" so decided to give it a home serving up now at Surry Hills, Newstead and Single O Japan

From the toasty banana bread crumb that lingers to the bright and refreshing cold brew - this is one to get around (quickly). Whether it hangs around permanently is up to you - get in and give it a whirl if you haven't already had the chance and state your case.

For those of you further afield, here's the recipe so you can crack into one at home!

RECIPE SINGLE O BANANA BREAD COLD BREW

Makes about 3 serves.

Cold Foam Ingredients:

  • 150ml of Flora plant based cream.
  • 60ml of Monin banana puree.
  • 25ml (1 shot) of Single O Reservoir coffee, chilled.
  • A pinch of salt.
Cold Brew Ingredients:
  • 60g single origin coffee : 1L water. We're bananas about our single origin Costa Rica Finca Corralar atm.
  • 45ml sugar syrup. (To make mix 1:1 ratio of sugar to water).

Cold Brew Method:

Add to each serving glass: 

  • 2-3 small ice cubes.
  • 15ml of sugar syrup.
  • Cold brew - leave room for 1-2cm of cold foam. 
  • Stir well. 
Cold Foam Method:
  • Combine all ingredients in a squeeze bottle.
  • Shake well to thicken to a pourable consistency.
  • Pour to add over the cold brew. 
  • Top with a sprinkle of toasted banana bread crumb to garnish.
